What was the Key of She Jazz Jam? 

The Key of She Jazz Jam was an afternoon-long event. The day opened with a special performance, followed by a jam session workshop for students in jazz, and other breakout sessions for educators, parents, and professional musicians.

Who was this event for? 

Our organizational mission is to support more girls to be involved in jazz starting at a middle school level, BUT this event was open to students of all genders and identities! 

​

Why was this event important? 

This event created a supportive network and community for girls in jazz.  Our goal was to foster an inclusive environment for all students, especially girls in jazz. We need the help of not just the girls in the band-- but educators, parents, musicians, and supportive friends to achieve this mission.

How did the event go? 

The event went well! We received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback, and we had over 100 attendees including students of all ages/genders, parents, educators, musicians, and more.
