DONATE

As jazz saxophonist Tia Fuller wrote recently, "Young girls can fly a rocket ship, throw a football and solo on the saxophone — but it is always harder to be what you cannot see." Though change is happening in jazz, it's slow going. Despite nearly equal numbers of girls and boys in school bands and orchestras, girls still represent only a fraction of the students playing jazz in school from middle school up through college and beyond. Key of She Jazz shines a light on women in jazz and shows younger female players there is room for them, too. We aim to inspire and encourage today's girls and young women who remain under-represented, connecting them with stories of women jazz trailblazers past and present. Last year, we heard from so many people about their very positive experience at the first Key of She Jazz Conference, but particularly from the girls who saw in one day amazing examples of women leaders in jazz.

We need both individual and corporate donations to keep the momentum going.

We are responsible for all fundraising to pay for performers, presenters, session leaders, and all of the things that make this conference a great experience. Your donations are tax deductible, as we are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
